can inspect

Detailing photographs badly — a clean car looks clean in any picture. So when we add photos here, we shoot the same panel, from the same angle, under the same light, so you can judge the work honestly.

Fresh before-and-after shots on the way

We're photographing our latest jobs properly rather than posting stock images. In the meantime, the case notes below walk through three real details from start to finish.

Case notes

Three jobs, start to finish

What the car arrived like, what we did about it, and what changed.

Case 01

Ten years of tunnel washes

Audi A6 · dark grey · 2 days

The problem. Dark paint that looked fine in the shade and terrible in sunlight — a full web of swirl marks from years of automatic washes, plus water spotting on the roof and bonnet.

What we did. Paint depth readings across every panel, a test section to find the least aggressive combination that worked, then a two-stage correction by hand-guided machine. Water spots were removed chemically before polishing rather than sanded.

The result. Reflections with clean edges instead of haze, and a sealant to keep it that way. The owner switched to a maintenance wash every six weeks and has not been back for correction since.

Case 02

Two kids and a dog

Volvo XC60 · interior · 4 hrs

The problem. Ground-in biscuit crumbs, dog hair woven into the boot carpet, and a smell the owner had stopped noticing but visitors had not.

What we did. Rubber blocks and extraction for the hair, hot-water extraction on the carpets and fabric seats, steam through every vent and seat rail, then an enzyme treatment for the odour rather than a fragrance to cover it.

The result. The car came back neutral, not perfumed. The boot carpet dried overnight and the owner booked a maintenance interior clean for every six months.

Case 03

Prepared for sale

BMW 540i · full detail · 5 hrs

The problem. A well-kept car that photographed poorly — dull trim, cloudy headlights, and an engine bay that made a good service history look worse than it was.

What we did. Full exterior decontamination and single-stage polish, headlight restoration, engine bay cleaned and dressed, all plastic trim restored, and the interior brought back to showroom condition.

The result. Listed the same week and sold above asking price. The detail cost a fraction of the difference.

What clients say

In their words

They worked in my driveway for five hours and I barely noticed they were there. The car came back looking better than the day I collected it from the dealer.

Two kids, one dog, three years of mess. I was embarrassed to show them the back seats. You would never know now — and they did not make me feel bad about it once.

SR Sofia R.Interior detail · Volvo XC60

Ten years of swirl marks from automatic washes, gone in a day. They showed me the paint readings before and after, which is more than any shop has ever done for me.
